Kara Thomas got her start in photography at the age of 16, as an assistant for her father's photography business, and took a break when she left for college. She soon realized college wasn't right for her and began to pursue photography as a career.
"I really liked the idea that it combined equal levels of brains and creativity."
She attended Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography, graduating in 2003, while learning how to work the camera equipment and transitioning to second shooter.
Her passion thrives in Music Photography, having photographed concerts for artists such as Adam Lambert, Monte Pittman, Prong, Combichrist, and Project Pitchfork.
"There is just something about photographing people as they are creating music that is incredibly touching to me and inspiring to capture."
Kara catches emotions and moments in split seconds that are rarely seen by the casual concert goer, and makes them permanent, visually displaying why the audience feels such a connection with the artist. With her diverse experience, skill, and heartfelt devotion for the art, Kara's photos always tell a story, seen from deep within the soul.
